Welcome
Welcome to University Community Church! We are so grateful that you are considering joining this crazy group of Jesus followers. We know that looking for a church or finding a new or church "home" can be super stressful and a bit overwhelming. From where to park to what to wear to how to check in your kids, we get that all of this might be totally new or even foreign to you, Our hope is that from the moment you step into our church, you will feel welcomed, safe, and seen.
If you want to just sneak in check us out, great! We won't force you to do or sign up for anything! But if you'd like to meet our crew, get to know us a bit better, and hear about the amazing things God is doing in this place, then just fill out a connection card (here online or in person when you come by) and we will definitely be in touch.
We believe in creating a space where people from any and every background can have authentic encounters with Jesus. Around here, we truly believe that Jesus changes everything and we can't wait for you to experience that for yourself.

FAQ'S
Let's see if we can't put your mind at ease a bit...
Where are you located?
We are at 1555 E University Ave. in Lac Cruces, NM. We are located right across the street from the NMSU bookstore and are walking distance from most of the dorms and The Flats. Look for the big sign that says "Jesus Changes Everything."
what should I wear?
UCC is a casual, laid back, authentic environment. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt or your Sunday best. Most of us dress for comfort...we want you to be comfortable too! At UCC you will see everything from boots to flip flops to dress shoe!
What is the preaching like?
Our commitment at UCC is to always be faithful and true to God's Word. Whenever someone on our teaching team takes the stage, they seek to speak timeless truths in ways that are relevant, accessible, and clear. We tend to be a mixture of topical and expository (verse by verse) when it comes to our preaching. We like to use visuals and videos to help drive home the message and we don't mind people laughing with us or even at us. The goal in every message is for people to become more and more like Jesus. You can listen to our most recent sermon by clicking on the tab below.
What Do you have for kids?
Thinking about bringing your kids with you to church? That's a great idea! Here at UCC we love teaching little ones about Jesus. We have amazing kids programming happening during our 10:30am worship service. It’s safe, secure, and most importantly your kids are going to have a blast! Look for the area labeled "Kids Check In". One of our team members will be there to help you navigate the sign in process and to help your kids feel welcomed from the start. You can check your little ones in at least 15 minutes before either service. If you'd rather your little ones stay with you in the service, that is just fine as well!
We Hope To See You on Sunday
Unlike Chik-fil-a, we are always open on Sundays. As of right now, we have two separate worship gatherings that have two unique and distinct "flavors". Our first service is at 8:30am and is a more traditional service where we primarily sing acapella (voices only) hymns. This service is just under one hour.
Our second service begins at 10:30am and is a more contemporary service where our band plays worship songs that you will most likely hear on Christian radio. This service runs about 75 minutes.
In both services we pray together, dive deep into God's Word, and we always spend time taking communion with one another.
